Our Story
The Kicking Donkey is a charming, historic and picturesque country inn, nestled in the West Lancashire countryside, just outside the bustling market town of Ormskirk.
The emphasis is on quality, locally sourced pub food. With over thirty years industry experience, Chef Patron Matt Fallaize oversees an eclectic, freshly made menu featuring pub favourites as well as more adventurous dishes.
But feel free to just pop in for a drink, it’s still at heart a pub, first and foremost. Recognised in the Good Beer Guide, and with a wine list sourced from some of the North West’s foremost suppliers, The Kicking Donkey is a relaxed place to kick back and enjoy yourself, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

As a local business in a local community we strongly believe in helping each other when we can. With this in mind we have become a Warm Space so if you are struggling with energy bills and need somewhere warm to go for a cup of tea in the winter months, please drop in.
